Transient cortical amaurosis in an adult

Abstract

A 55-year-old woman suffering from chronic obstructive and restrictive pulmonary disease, after retention of carbon dioxide with unconsciousness, suffered transient visual loss with full recovery within five weeks. Computerized tomography was normal. Transient cortical blindness has been reported mainly in children and is a rare phenomenon among adults.
