Colour vision deficiencies in lateral homonymous hemianopsia

Pages 139-143 | Accepted 12 Feb 1990, Published online: 08 Jul 2009

Abstract

Thirty-two cases of lateral homonymous hemianopsia were studied for colour deficiencies. The colour vision of 62 eyes was examined by means of pseudo-isochromatic plates: Ishihara, AOMRR and an arrangement test: Farnsworth 100-Hue illuminated by a Macbeth lamp. Colour defects were especially found in cerebral vascular lesions in which the predominant deficiency was a red-green II axis with a tetartan axis. Tumours or compressions scarcely produce colour defects of only blue-yellow axis: tetartan.
