Abstract

The effect of translucent occluders on the results of automated static perimetry in 28 eyes of 14 normal volunteers was studied. The subjects were tested with automated perimetry with both an opaque and a translucent occluder. Occluding the non-tested eye with a translucent patch increased retinal sensitivity and improved global perimetric indexes by eliminating the ‘Ganzfeld blankout phenomenon’.
