Abstract
Numerical scores on the psychological scales of the Premenstrual Assessment Form were measured in carefully screened women with premenstrual complaint and in those without premenstrual complaint with or without a non-psychotic affective disorder. Clear and substantial differences in scores were observed among the groups. The study suggests that it is possible to obtain differences among these groups. It may be that careful clinical selection could allow the development of a successful retrospective questionnaire to make a preliminary assessment of premenstrual complaint.
