Premenstrual syndrome and psychiatric morbidity at the menopause

Abstract

We read with great interest the paper by Larsson & Hallman¹ addressing the relationship between premenstrual complaints and health problems in the climacteric. They found that women with severe previous premenstrual symptoms were more likely to require ‘sick-leave’ and had a greater number of clinical diagnoses at the time of the menopause.
