Abstract

Owing to the particular structure of the orbit, the pathology of the orbital region includes a number of affections pertaining to various medical and surgical disciplines, consequently requiring a multidisciplinary cooperation by the ophthalmologist, neurosurgeon, neurologist, otolaryngologist, internist, endocrinologist and radiologist. The right approach to the patient affected by orbital disorders is therefore dependent upon proper identification of clinical signs and symptoms.
