Abstract
The literature regarding metastatic eyelid disease has consisted of isolated case reports or small series. The author updates his review of metastatic lid disease to include a series of 49 cases and compare the results with a literature review of 88 cases. Metastatic lid disease is a disease of elderly women, with the breast being the primary focus in half of the cases. Metastatic lid disease is a great clinical mimicker. Metastasis should be suspected in patients with known malignancies when presenting with an eyelid lesion.
