Abstract
The five patients described developed severe tissue alterations after operations on the eyelids and on the lacrimal tract, following which ointments were applied. Histologic examination showed lipogranuloma. Each of the patients had a vaseline ointment containing antibiotics applied after the operation; the authors believe that the vaseline entered the fresh wound and started the development of a lipogranuloma.
