Abstract

Casereport

A 45- year-old gravida 4, para 3 woman had severe menorrhagia for 2 years. There were no other symptoms and the medical history was unremarkable except for mild hypertension that was controlled with medication. Following an episode of severe bleeding, she was admitted to hospital. On examination, the patient was pale and pelvic examination revealed an enlarged uterus “12 weeks in size I” containing multiple masses. The patient' hemoglobin level was 7.8 g/dl. A clinical diagnosis of uterine fibroids was made and the patient underwent a total abdominal hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy.
