Early Signs of Allergy in Infancy and Childhood

Pages 171-174 | Published online: 02 Jul 2009

Abstract

The incidence of allergy in infancy and childhood is striking. It has been estimated that thirty percent of infants and children have evidence of clinical allergies. In March and April 1965, I reviewed the incidence of clinical allergy in 500 consecutive cases of infants and children who entered my office for general pediatric care. I found that forty percent of these patients either presented for allergic illness or had symptoms of allergy in their past history.
