Transplantation Between Monozygotic Twins

Pages 64-66 | Published online: 08 Jul 2009

Abstract

After a brief review on the literature concerning transplantations between monozygotic twins, a new case is added. A 22–year-old woman with burns comprising 59% of the body surface had three transplantations of skin from her monozygotic twin sister. The total grafts corresponded to 25% of the body surface. There were 100% takes, and all the sister skin has survived permanently. Now, 6 years after the accident, it is indistinguishable from the autografts.
