Abstract
A report is presented on the jaw orthopedic and orthodontic treatment of cleft lip and palate patients at the Cleft Palate Center of the University Hospital, Uppsala, Sweden. The objects and the rationale of early treatment are discussed. The principles governing orthopedic treatment of patients at different age periods are outlined and the applicances used are described.
