Abstract
The effect of growth of the facial skeleton after implantation of Surgicel in minor to middle-sized clefts of the maxilla was studied with biometric and radiographic methods. The material (10 patients), operated on at 12–24 months of age, has been recorded yearly to mixed or permanent dentition. The results obtained were very satisfactory in all cases except one. Thus the method might be useful for the treatment of wider clefts and should be tried as a definitive test of the reliability of the method.
