Abstract

After excision of a conjunctival malignant melanoma, removing 2×4 cm of conjunctiva, the palpebral conjunctiva of the upper and lower lid was reconstructed with a conjunctival flap from the upper lid. The conjunctival defect on the ocular globe was left to spontaneous epithelialization. There was initial adhesion of the globe to the lower fornix, but within 3 months, the full range of eye movements was achieved and 12 months after surgery the patient had no symptoms from her eye.
