Resurfacing full thickness burns of scalp: ‘the cross-word technique’

Abstract

A technique for the closure of extensive scalp defects resulting from burns is described which is particularly suitable for elderly subjects not able to withstand extensive surgical treatment. This technique is safe, swift and effective for cases of extensive exposure of the bony outer table of the skull devoid of periosteum following trauma.
