Abstract

The temporoparietal fascial flap is useful in, reconstructions of the hands and feet as tendon gliding material, but it is difficult to monitor its viability postoperatively. We have monitored such flaps by attaching a small preauricular skin flap 2 × 1 cm in size to the vascular pedicle. This preauricular island flap can be used as a “monitoring” flap.
