Acoustic Modifications to Earmoulds

Pages 8-12 | Published online: 12 Oct 2009

Abstract

Methods of acoustically modifying the receiver/earmould system of a hearing aid in order to bring about changes to the frequency response characteristics of the aid are discussed. A number of venting configurations are examined and it is shown that to obtain high pass filtering from above 1 kHz, the open (non-occluding) earmould is necessary.
