Abstract
Medical physics and bioengineering services in the Northern Region are organized on a regional basis. The rationale and advantages of such organization are outlined with reference to logistics, economics and professional matters. The wide-ranging contributions of the Regional Medical Physics Department to health care in the hospital and in the community are briefly described.
