Evaluation of Surgical Diathermy Units

Abstract

The evaluation of surgical diathermy units is being undertaken for the DHSS by the staff of the Bioengineering Unit at Cardiff Royal Infirmary. ‘Health Equipment Information’ No. 139, published in April 1985, contains evaluation reports on five surgical diathermy units, the Birtcher Hyfrecator 733-2, the Erbe Erbotom T71D, the KeyMed KBS-50, the Valleylab Surgistat, and the wolf. 2175. Summaries of the following, which have been the subject of previous evaluation reports and are still available are also included: Downs Diadon 170, Erbe Erbotom T175 and the Olympus PSD-2.
