Evaluation report: Resuscitators

Abstract

As part of the continuing medical equipment evaluation programme sponsored by the UK Health Departments, the evaluation of resuscitators is being carried out in the Department of Anaesthetics, University of Wales College of Medicine, under the direction of Professor M. D. Vickers.

‘Health Equipment Information’ (HEI3) 152 is the second report on resuscitators, and contains detailed assessments of the following manually powered models, suitable for use with adults, and children over approximately three years of age or 10-15 kg body weight: Aga Revivator, Air-Viva 11, Ambu Mark 111, Flynn, Laerdal Silicone, Sohngen ‘P’, New Sussex Basic and Universal, Vitalograph Rubber and Silicone, and Weinmann Combibag.
