Abstract
This article is an extract from ‘Health Equipment Information’ (HEI), Number 168 ‘Evaluation of Nursing Incubators’ published & the UK Department of Health and Social Security. It contains delailed reports on the following incubators:
Airshields Isolette CIOO-2E; Draeger Intensive Care 7512; Engments Guardian SP3; Ohmeda Ohio Intensive Care; Vickers Neocare 142.
The evaluation report, the first on nursing incubators, is part of the continuing programme of equipment evaluation sponsored by the UK Departments of Health, and was carried out in SCBUs (Special Care Baby Units) at the University Hospital of Wales and St David's Hospital, Cardiff (Professor Gray), and also in the Department of Medical Physics and Bioengineering, Cardiff Royal Infirmary (Mr J. P. McCarthy) and the British Standards Institution Test House, Hemel Hempstead, UK.
