Picking winners

Abstract

The main qualifying features of ‘winning’ products are that they must have been rapidly taken up by the market and made their companies better off. Such products have included Nellcor's oxygen saturation products, Lotus 1-2-3, the new generation of facsimile machines, food processors, the Sony Walkman, the Boeing 747 and even the IBM PC.
