Abstract
When I started Protectair I had a background of 19 years in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries including posts in research, sales, marketing, and finally in general management. Over the years I met many people with good ideas who did not know who to ask for help in getting these turned into products. Eventually I decided that there was a real need and a future in providing a vehicle for developing links between doctors and other health-care professionals working in the British National Health Service or the British medical schools, who had good ideas but no connections in industry to help them convert these ideas into hardware. The company was formed in the Summer of 1982 and commenced trading on 4 October that year.
