Abstract
A recent hemoglobinopathy survey conducted in Aichi Prefecture disclosed an abnormal hemoglobin which exhibited a slight molecular instability and an increased oxygen affinity. It migrated between the Hb →2 and Hb A bands on isoelectric focusing of the hemolysate (1). This paper describes the structural and functional character of this hemoglobin.
