Abstract
Microencapsulation using ethylcellulose and embedding in stearic acid or polyethylene glycol 6000 have been employed to protect ascorbic acid from metallic ion catalysed oxidation in tablets containing zinc sulphate. It is observed that presence of Zn in the tablets do not affect stability of ascorbic acid even at accelerated storage conditions provided the moisture content is controlled.
