Abstract

Radiation therapy represents a cancer specialty with a major technological basis. The job of the radiation therapist is to bring modern technology to bear on individuals who have cancer. The background requires understanding of anatomy and pathology and radiation biology. While it is fair to argue about the precise role of radiation therapy in a number of neoplasms, there is little question that a role exists for the treatment of most neoplasms.
