Oncologists point with pride to developments in the management of small cell lung cancer as an example of the heights modern cancer therapy has reached. Immediate improvement in both the control of cancer-related symptoms and survival are obvious in this deadly and common solid tumor affecting nearly 40,000 Americans annually.
