Abstract
Eberhard G., Ottosson J. O. Icke-regressiv schizofreni. En sammanfattning tillägnad Eberhard Nyman.
The concept »non-regressive schizophrenia« was introduced more than ten years ago by Eberhard Nyman, who recently retired as a professor of psychiatry at the Department of Psychiatric Research, S:t Lars' Hospital. University of Lund, Sweden, and to whom this paper is dedicated. From a clinical point of view, »borderline schizophrenia« is a vague and ambiguous description of the borderland between schizophrenic psychoses and different neuroses-like states characterized by narcissistic traits and a lack of secondary gain in a psychodynamic meaning. During recent decades, different designations have been proposed for describing this borderland region; latent, ambulatory and pseudoneurotic schizophrenia as well as early schizophrenia have been used to underline the mutual connexion to schizophrenic psychoses. The concept »non-regressive schizophrenia», however, seems to be the most adequate denomination hitherto proposed in characterizing the nosological affinity to schizophrenia in a narrow sense. In the present paper the historical background, the clinical picture, principles of treatment, and nosological implications of non-regressive schizophrenia are discussed.
