Co-injection of zuclopenthixol acetate and zuclopenthixol decanoate

The aim of the trial was to study the serum concentrations of zuclopenthixol and the clinical effects in patients receiving zuclopenthixol acetate and zuclopenthixol decanoate at the same time. Twelve patients were randomly allocated either to receive one injection of the two formulations mixed in one syringe (co-injection) or to be given two separate injections. Both the pharmacokinetic and clinical data showed that there were no differences between the two groups. Thus, the study shows that zuclopenthixol acetate and zuclopenthixol decanoate can be mixed and given as one injection.
