Abstract

Glycoprotein isolated by lithium diiodosalicylate (LIS) and phenol-water extraction of human erythrocyte membranes is immunologically identical with and closely similar in overall chemical composition to previously described virus receptor substance (VRS), stromal inhibitor of viral hemagglutination, and MN blood group substances isolated from the same source by phenol-water partition.
