Abstract
The identification of a thymus antigen on rabbit cells has made it possible to determine the number and proportion of RTLA (rabbit thymus lymphocyte antigen) bearing thymus derived cells in various lymphoid tissues. In an earlier study, this has been measured by complement mediated cell kill. In this report, the proportion of thymus and bursa-equivalent cells was obtained by means of immunofluorescenf staining. The proportion of RTLA cells is in agreement with that found by cytotoxicity. Age dependent changes in the organ content of RTLA bearing and of Ig bearing cells are described.
