Abstract

Minor fractions of nuclear DNA which reassociate rapidly have been identified in many eucaryotes; they may or may not have buoyant densities differing from the bulk of the DNA. They contain DNA sequences of varying degrees of repetition frequency.

In this report, we describe afraction of reiterative DNA which Results in dicate that a formed hybrids with RNA from mouse spleens. fraction of mouse splenic RNA undergoing relatively rapid synthesis and deqradation formed molecular hybrids w i t h DNA sequences of intermediate repetition frequency.
