Abstract
An immunosuppressed patient with pancytopenia developed cryptococcal cellulitis over his thighs, confirmed by histopathologic, serologic and cultural studies. Culture of the blood, CSF, sputum, and urine were negative for Cryptococcus. A decision to put the patient on fluconazole alone was made. By the 53rd week, his serologic examination for cryptococcal antigen had become negative. He was likewise clinically cured of the infection and fluconazole was discontinued.
