Abstract

Theoretical and methodological difficulties with customer satisfaction in adolescent psychiatry are presented. Using a two stage questionnaire design, 100 consecutive attenders and their parents were canvassed regarding their satisfaction with first contact with a general adolescent psychiatric service. Satisfaction was found to be related to demographic, attitudinal and clinical, as well as assessment, variables. The implications of the findings are discussed.
