The TAPS project 15: The social networks of two group settings: A pilot study

Pages 99-106 | Published online: 06 Jul 2009

Abstract

This pilot study contrasts the changes in social networks of long-stay psychiatric patients discharged to two group settings. At one year follow-up, the comparison was made between settings with successful or unsuccessful social milieux. From this comparison a hypothesis is generated about how to plan the social mix within a residence so as to produce a mutually supportive group of residents. Future research might assess this hypothesis.
