Abstract
This study focuses on the current situation of preventive drug education implemented in the schools in South Asian Countries such as Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The development of drug education varies from country to country. Information was gathered from the delegates to the Colombo Plan Workshop on Development of Drug Prevention Curriculum for Schools in Islamabad, Pakistan on 24–28 February 1997. The study examines the existing school policy and the drug prevention curricula in relation to its formulation/design, implementation barriers and evaluation.
