Abstract
The use of quantitative cocaine urinalysis is illustrated with case reports from four subjects. Urine samples were collected for a period of 21 consecutive days and analyzed using fluorescent polarization immunoassay. Urinalysis results were compared to self-reported use. Findings support the use of quantitative urinalysis as an outcome measure in clinical research. Self-reported high-dose use was associated with higher urine concentrations and more protracted periods of decline. The importance of repeated urinalysis is discussed.
