Abstract
Microcapsules of Cimetidine as an anti-ulcer drug have been prepared by the emulsion-solvent evaporation technique using Eudragit RS-100 as the coating polymeric material. Drug release from the microcapsules was determined in different kinetic models such as zero-order, Higuchi matrix, first-order, and Baker-Lonsdale. An in-vitro dissolution study has been carried out to evaluate the effect of size on the diffusivity rate constant (Kbl) and the diffusion coefficient (Da). BASIC programming with the help of PC/XT has been used to compute the kinetic models.
