Abstract
The Lindholm test is a modified whole blood clotting time test designed to permit estimation of the blood compatibility of biomaterials. This test has been standardized by use of Silastic, glass, polyethylene, cellulose acetate, and silicone-coated glass materials in tests with blood from 34 different normal donors. Mean and standard deviation values for clotting times are given for each of the 5 materials tested. Repeatibility of clotting time was considerably improved by use of blood from a single donor rather than from different donors.
