Abstract
This paper describes the use of hemodialysis as a laboratory tool in renal-electrolyte research. By using this technique the extracellular fluid volume of an animal can be maintained while blood electrolyte concentrations are changed to desired levels. The affect of these changes on renal function can then be determined.
