Pregnancy Under Subutex (Buprenorphine): Opinions Expressed on French Internet Forums

Abstract

Internet forums record the opinions and advice exchanged about pregnancy under Subutex. Two hundred and fourteen messages under 92 nicknames from four forums, especially dedicated to this subject in France, from August 2005 to July 2008 were collected and analyzed with QSR NIVIVO8. Most of the Internet users were women, pregnant, or with children, using Subutex. Very few professionals took part in them. The analysis of the opinions and representations of this substance, of medical practices, of exchanged advice, particularly on posology, was realized by the construction of a thematic tree.

Grossesses sous Subutex: opinions exprimées sur des forums internet français

Les forums internet permettent d’accéder aux opinions et conseils échangés à propos des grossesses sous Subutex. Les échanges sur quatre forums spécialement dédiés à ce sujet en France, sur une période allant d’août 2005 à juillet 2008, soit 214 messages rédigés par 92 pseudonymes, ont été recueillis et analysés sur QSR NVIVO8. La majorité des internautes sont ici des femmes, enceintes ou avec enfants, consommatrices de Subutex. Peu de professionnels sont intervenus. L’analyse des opinions et représentations de cette substance, des pratiques des médecins, des conseils échangés, en particulier sur les dosages est réalisée à partir d’un arbre thématique.

Embarazos bajo Subutex: opiniones intercambiados sobre fores franceses

Los foros Internet permiten acceder a las opiniones y consejos intercambiados con respecto a los embarazos bajo Subutex. Se recogieron y se analizaron los intercambios sobre cuatro foros especialmente dedicados a este respecto en Francia, sobre un período yendo de agosto de 2005 a julio de 2008, sea 214 mensajes redactados por 92 seudónimos, sobre QSR NVIVO8. La mayoría de los internautas son aquí mujeres, embarazadas o con niños, consumidoras de Subutex. Pocos profesionales intervinieron. El análisis de las opiniones y representaciones de esta sustancia, de las prácticas de los médicos, de los consejos intercambiados, en particular sobre las dosis se realiza a partir de un árbol temático.

D. in Demography, is a senior lecturer at Paris Descartes University and a researcher at Centre of Research on Psychoactive Substances, Mental Health and Society (CESAMES, associated with CNRS and INSERM).
