Tracing the Justifications of Opioid Maintenance Treatment in Finland

THE AUTHORS

Jani Selin, DSocSci, finished his sociology dissertation on the history of drug addiction treatment in Finland in 2011 at the University of Jyväskylä. Since then Selin has worked as a lecturer in sociology at the University of Jyväskylä and as a visiting researcher at the Finnish National Institute for Health and Welfare. His research has focused on addiction theories and addiction treatment from the point of view of power and social production of knowledge. His current research interests include inclusion and exclusion in opioid substitution treatment and the functioning and effects of scientific categories in opioid substitution treatment.
