Abstract

Three of the several unexplored methodological and theoretical issues regarding alcoholic relatives are addressed: (1) the comparability of diagnosed and self-report rates of alcoholic relatives, (2) the rates of alcoholic relatives of alcoholics identified in a general population survey, and (3) the investigation of alcoholic relatives in the context of a multifactored processes model of alcohol abuse and recovery.
