The personal-professional interface in learning: Towards reflective education

Pages 261-271 | Published online: 06 Jul 2009

Abstract

I shall explore what is the personal-professional interface, indicate the contribution to reflective practice of cultivating learning approaches which bridge personal and professional experience and examine the implications for professional and interprofessional education and training. In doing this, I shall refer to experiential learning and draw upon ideas about the use of metaphor. The discussion will also touch upon the impact of gender on ways of knowing and learning.
