All together now–collaboration to improve the care of people with asthma

Pages 245-250 | Published online: 06 Jul 2009

Abstract

This paper describes an innovative approach to purchasing care for people with asthma by directly involving a wide range of health professionals and a lay representative in a ‘task force’ to achieve improved care. The Asthma Task Force for Cornwall demonstrates how user involvement and interprofessional collaboration can influence the purchasing process and streamline developments in services. Such an approach is readily transferable and could act as a model for other conditions.
