Antegrade placement of JJ stents

Abstract

The antegrade placements of JJ stents has distinct advantages over the established retrograde method. A general anaesthetic is not needed and it overcomes the problem of cannulating the ureteric orifice which may be obscured by the disease process. The method is similar to nephrostomy tube placement.
