Summary

Herniography (peritoneography) is a well-recognized diagnostic adjunct in the assessment of possible groin hernias. We report a case of misleading herniography results in which an apparently positive hemiogram was caused by the presence of post-appendicectomy adhesions. The case was managed by a laparoscopic approach to intended hernia repair which proved to be ideal for division of the adhesions without surgical intervention to the normal groin.
