The team approach to the management of acute critical ischaemia

Summary

The study reviews the treatment of patients with critical ischaemia in a District General Hospital over a 10 month period and assesses patient outcome over a 2 year follow-up period. A limb salvage rate of 82% was achieved using radiological intervention as the first line treatment in the majority of patients. Surgical treatment was used where necessary as additional treatment in these patients.
