Pages 311-313 | Published online: 10 Jul 2009

Summary

Umbilical, epigastric and incisional hernias may cause incarceration and strangulation of the intra-abdominal organs. When ≥ 10 mm trocars are used, incisional herniation may occur if fascial sutures have not been used. We present a new instrument and a new method for the secure repair of small abdominal wall defects. The prototype has been produced by local steel workers.
