Orientating Children in Regular Schools Towards Impairments

Pages 13-18 | Published online: 10 Jul 2009

Abstract

During the last decade, there has been increased pressure for greater integration of children possessing mental, physical and sensory impairments in the regular classroom. The absence of appropriate educational programmes to orientate children and their teachers in regular schools towards impairments is a serious hindrance. The writer discusses certain audio-visual material and other education techniques which eventually may facilitate this integration process.
